Soon to open Bohol International Airport |
With the opening of the International Airport, Bohol is your
gateway to any place in Central Visayas. Sometimes the best experiences in
traveling are the ones you have found unexpectedly. And
so it is with Bohol, an island province that is located in the heart of
Central Visayas and most likely called "God's Little Paradise" by those
who are caught off-guard by its mystery and charm. Bohol is located southeast
of Cebu, southwest of Leyte and across south of the Bohol Sea is Mindanao.
The island consists of 47 towns with Tagbilaran City as its capital and is described
as an oval shaped island that resembles the delicacy “ubing kinampay” which is
famous all over the island for its delicious taste, rich flavors and nutrients.
Bohol has a total land area of 4,821 km2 (1,861 sq mi) and a coastline 261 km
(162 mi) long according to Wikipedia.org and is considered as the tenth largest
island all over the Philippines. Bohol is categorized as a first-class province
which is divided into 3 congressional districts which consist of 1 component
city with 47 towns and 1,109 barangays in total. The island of Bohol is
considered as one of the best tourist destination nationwide because of its beautiful
white sand beaches, magnificent waterfalls, underground caves and peaceful
islands and islets. One thing that is also amazing about the island is the
kind, hospitable and peace loving people living all over the island. Even
though Bohol was devastated by a 7.2 magnitude earthquake 4 years ago, the
people here always stay positive that no matter what happens, if they remain
calm and put their trust to God, he will surely give them peace of mind and he
will surely help them overcome the calamity that happened to them. On the other
hand, when talking about beaches and resorts, I can say that once you arrive at
the airport, you are already minutes away from the beautiful white sand beaches
and prestigious resorts because wherever you look at the map, Bohol is
surrounded by plenty of tourism spots that gives good impressions from tourists
around the world who visited the island. So if you want to have a well spent vacation,
