   Nature has its own ways to amaze us with its beauty, and to appreciate its overwhelming creation we must be one with it on our own ways. One way is to experience how nature works on its own ways like what the saying states:” We must be with nature to feel nature”.When talking about nature, Pamilacan Island has never ceased to amaze me with its amazing naturalistic aspect which attracts different types of local or international explorers and travelers. The Island is like hidden paradise yet to be discovered for its untouched natural environment whether on land and on sea. Even though the island is small compared to other islands in Bohol, it is still considered as one of the most visited tourist spots in the whole province because as soon as you arrive on the island, you can already feel its peculiarity among the other islands in the province-which is its peaceful and tranquil atmosphere all around it. On the other hand, the island is very rich with aquatic resources which are considered as the main source of income of the people living on the island but also one of the aspects which attracts tourists from around the world.

   Let us now talk about the beautiful white sand beaches all over the island which is as fine as powder. One thing also with the white sand is that it is all natural and untouched by commercial factors eager to develop it thinking that it would attract more tourists on the island but only damaging its natural cycle.

   Another thing is the peacefulness of the island. The inhabitants of the island are very friendly and hospitable. They are also peace-loving people, who can also be trusted in many other ways because they live a simple life far from the influence of the urban life.

Their marine wildlife is vast and very much protected by their local government in partnership with the Provincial Bureau of Aquatic Resources to ensure the safety and preservation of various species of fishes and other aquatic species living on their waters. 

   They also have a wide range Coral Garden which gives beauty underwater, not just that, as far as we all know, corals are the main shelter of various species of fishes and other animals living underwater and to ensure that the corals are safe from harm, the Fish Sanctuary is built to safeguard the fishes and the corals from fishers and divers.

   Everything on Earth are precious to us mankind. It is our duties and responsibilities to protect everything that God has given to us so that it will remain until next generations to come.

The Island of Pamilacan lies on the deep blue waters of the Bohol Sea.  The island is considered as isolated yet to be discovered. The people living on the island are very friendly and approachable. You can interact with the locals who are inhabitants of the island. As amateurish demographics of the people living on the island, they are considered a little different from regular Filipino settlers from the island. Some local inhabitants on the island resemble the early Polynesian ancestors living on the island from the past. The inhabitants on the island are very humble and for that you can have a very down to earth interaction with them.

Everything on the island is very natural and unscathed by the commercial factors from the city in fact, most of the islands’ properties remain untouched and available for further developments. The island is also considered as an easy regional connection for the reason that travel access to neighbor islands like Siquijor, Camiguin and Cebu are very much easy if ever you want to go directly to some parts of the mentioned islands. Pamilacan Island has unique geological formation because even the big water mammals can be found on the deep sea between the town of Baclayon and the island itself.

Blue whales can be found underwater depending on the season because Pamilacan Island lies within the migrating route of whale and whale sharks and unlike Oslob Cebu City, we wait for them to arrive naturally and not capturing and holding them in captivity to preserve the young whale offspring’s living under the blue waters and on the migration route of the mammals. You can also meet Bottlenose whales sometimes depending on their migrating season. This whale family is one of the deepest diving mammals known, reaching depths of 1453 m (4767 ft) and can be seen seasonally on the island. According to Wikipedia.org, despite being deep diving beaked whales, they are known to come, play, and rest in shallow waters in small numbers. They are very playful and curious towards human vessels making them relatively easy targets for whale hunters. Northern bottlenose feed mainly on squid and fish, feeding deep near the sea floor; they are capable of diving for an hour or more. Various numbers of Dolphins can also be found almost regularly on the island every early morning because this is the time where they migrate to another places in small numbers and sometimes in big numbers also.       Talking about islands, Bohol is blessed with so many islands and islets on its surrounding that are considered as tourist magnets due to its magnificent white sand beaches, sandbars, and prestigious hotels and restaurants which offer rest and relaxation to local and international tourists. One of the beautiful islands that Boholanos are proud of is Pamilacan Island which is located at the middle of the sea facing the town of Baclayon. Pamilacan Island can be crossed by riding a boat from mainland to the island itself. The travel could take 40-1 hour more or less depending on the boat and weather condition.

You can choose from various kinds of boat managed by different resorts and residents from the Island. You could pay a fixed amount for the fair if you want to stay longer on the island. They also have a rich coral garden that lies under the protected fish sanctuary which can be visited through diving or snorkeling accompanied by experts from different resorts and people living from the island. They make sure to protect these resources because this is the only treasure that they could cherish forever until the end of time.
